Pirates Put the Clamps on Cruisers

Jumping out to a 20-1 lead after just one quarter, the Adna girls basketball team trounced Eatonville Friday night, 65-23.

The Pirates were led by a balanced scoring attack, with three players scoring 12 points: Kaylin Todd, Faith Wellander, and Karlee Von Moos. They shot 55% from the field and produced 22 steals as a team in a dominant effort.

“We came out in the first half and played great,” coach Chris Bannish said. “These girls are figuring it out. They know the goals are high and it's our job as coaches to get them there.”

Adna will take a long trip down south, across the border, to take on league rival Toutle Lake Saturday at the Moda Center in Portland for its next contest in a non-league game.
