Pirates Spoil Trojans’ Return to Court

Posted

ADNA — In Pe Ell’s first game back on the court in almost two weeks, rust was to be expected. But against a team like Adna, which has been firing on all cylinders in recent outings, the Trojans couldn’t keep up in a 84-47 loss on the road.

The Pirates led throughout, posting a 62.7% field goal percentage and nine made threes in another offensive showcase. Every player that played for Adna scored, with Eli Smith and Braeden Salme leading the way with 16 points each. Chase Collins was the only other Pirate in double figures with 10 points.

For the Trojans (2-2), Jesse Zard (14 points) and Joseph Krafcyzk (11 points) finished in double figures, but they wouldn’t keep up with an incredibly potent Pirate offense on the road in their first game back in action since being shut down in COVID protocol.

The Pirates return to the floor next against Toutle Lake at the Moda Center in Portland, while the Trojans look to bounce back against Firm Foundation on Thursday in a league tilt.
