It’s now eight wins in a row to open the season for the Adna baseball team, which extended its win streak by defeating Mossyrock 8-0 on Wednesday.

Both teams were scoreless through two innings before Adna took the lead on back-to-back RBI singles from Beau Miller and Owen Fagernes in the third.

The 2-0 score held until the fifth, when Fagerness doubled the lead with a two-run double. Cash Smith was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force home another. Three more crossed the plate in the sixth to get the Pirates to eight.

Fagernes finished with three runs batted in. Smith, Miller, Luke Mohey, and Ty Bodenhamer each drove in a run, and Danner Hoinowski finished 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Cameron Nakano was lights-out on the bump, striking out 15 while allowing just three hits across six innings. Hoinowski struck out the side in the seventh.

Easton Kolb kept the Vikings in the game in his five innings on the bump, allowing five runs (three earned) and striking out eight. He also hit a double at the plate, one of Mossyrock’s three hits. Shaun Fry and Waylen Huguenin had the other day.

Mossyrock (4-3, 4-3 C2BL) and Adna (8-0, 8-0 C2BL) will face off again on Friday.
