Tucker Weaver allowed just one run across 4.2 innings and Centralia scored nearly all their runs in the second and third innings for an 11-1 victory over Rochester at home on Thursday.
Weaver struck out three batters while Marcus Miller pitched 1.1 scoreless innings to seal the win for the Tigers.
“It was a good effort by Weaver throwing strikes for us,” Centralia coach Adam Riffe said. “A good win for us.”
Shortstop Moshie Eport and first baseman Landon Kaut led the Tigers’ offense with three hits a peice, while Eport added two RBIs. Alex Kennedy finished with two hits and two RBIs and Brady Sprague added a hit and drove in two runs.
The Tigers plated five runs in the second inning, four in the third and two more in the fourth to outdistance the Warriors, who were struggling at the plate.
Centralia out-hit Rochester 13 to 6 in an errorless game for both sides.
Braden Hartley, Landon Hawes, Tony Groninger and Mason Ubias all collected hits for the Warriors, with Hawes driving in Rochester’s lone run.
Hyde Parrish tossed three innings for the Warriors with two Ks, while Kyle Wilson also struck out two batters.
Centralia (2-1) hosts King’s Way Christian in a non-league game on Wednesday. Rochester heads to Black Hills on Tuesday.
