Getting its season started in style, the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley softball team defeated Chief Leschi in Pe Ell Tuesday afternoon twice in a doubleheader, 18-0 and 18-0.
Lauren Emery got the action started in the first game in the circle, allowing just one hit and no runs in three innings with nine strikeouts, while Jillian Hodel starred at the plate, going 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and three RBIs. Sophia Milanowski added a 1-for-1 line with two runs scored and two RBIs.
In the second game, Milanowski blasted her first home run of the season, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and five RBIs to help lead the Titan offense. Hodel got the start in the circle and threw a three-inning no-hitter with eight punchouts. Grace Huber added a 2-for-2 line with two runs scored and three RBIs.
The Titans take on 1A Elma at home on Thursday at 4 p.m.
