Fueled by four runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the sixth, Raymond/South Bend rallied down an early hole and clipped the Mountaineers 9-5 on Thursday night in a non-league contest.
Rainier started off quick with a 3-0 lead after one frame. Brooklynn Swenson started the scoring with an RBI triple, Keira Anderson brought her home on an RBI groundout and Ryleigh Cruse roped a solo home run to cap the outburst.
The Mountaineers added another tally in the fourth, then the Ravens started their comeback with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Even after giving up the lead, Rainier got a run back in the sixth, but it wasn’t enough.
