The Rainier softball team continued its winning ways Tuesday, defeating Toutle Lake, 5-2, and Kalama right after, 18-7, at Toutle Lake.
The Mountaineers won a close one against the Ducks first, with Bailey Elwell throwing a complete game, allowing two runs, one unearned, on two hits and four walks. Elwell also struck out seven in the win.
At the plate, Keira Anderson went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI, Elwell added an RBI-triple, and Brooklynn Swenson went 1 for 2 with a run scored, two walks, and an RBI.
The second game was much different, as the Mountaineers racked up 25 hits in an 18-7 win over Kalama. Elwell had six strikeouts in relief, and hit a home run to pace the Rainier offense.
Olivia Earsley added a 2 for 3 line with three RBIs and a run scored, and Elwell went a perfect 5 for 5.
The Mountaineers take on Raymond-South Bend next on Thursday at home.
