Regional Girls Wrestling: Ten Grapplers Advance to Mat Classic

KELSO — Ten area wrestlers placed top five at the Region 3 girls wrestling tournament and advanced to the WIAA Mat Classic Saturday.

W.F. West’s Xylia Warner (140) and Tenino’s Jamiah Christin (115) both captured individual titles in their weight classes. Centralia’s Jade Hudson (100), W.F. West’s Courtney Jones (120), Toledo’s Andrea Jones (130) and Centralia’s Kupria Lapierre all placed third in their respective weight classes.

Washougal won the tourney with 107 points. W.F. West tied with Aberdeen for third place with 75 points. Centralia tied with Skyview for 11th place with 42 points. Tenino was 15th

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the state tournament. Fifth-place finishers will move on to state as alternates.
