Registered Sex Offender Returns to Mossyrock

Posted

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that a level three registered sex offender has returned to his address in the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in Mossyrock.

Rupp Freece, 30, is a caucasian male who weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Freece was first convicted for communication with a minor for immoral purposes in March 2012 after he provided alcohol and had sexual contact with two 15-year-olds.

He was most recently convicted in Lewis County Superior Court on Jan. 15, 2014, on one count of first-degree burglary and third-degree rape for sexually assaulting a woman after she allowed him into her home to use the phone. He served a 57-month sentence in custody and while he was scheduled to be released in August 2018, he remained in custody due to a pending civil commitment case.

A jury ruled against having Freece committed on allegations that he is a sexually violent predator on May 19. He will serve 18 months in community custody upon his release.

Freece is not wanted by law enforcement at this time.

“This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public,” the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
