The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate newly completed renovations at The Hub Bar and Restaurant in downtown Centralia.
The ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at 110 S. Tower Ave. in Centralia.
The Hub has provided food and beverages to the community from its current Tower Avenue location for the past 60 years.
Tim Filer, who, along with his partners, purchased the business in 2022, has been part of The Hub family since 2005, when he began bartending.
The restaurant is a family business, with Filer’s mother, Patty Prince, working there starting in 1996, alongside his mother-in-law, Marnie Behling.
In a news release from the chamber, Filer said he is excited about the ribbon-cutting and the new customers it will bring.
“I’m thrilled to be celebrating this milestone and introducing more people to The Hub," Filer said. "The ribbon-cutting marks the culmination of a lot of hard work — and I must admit, I’m also excited about those giant scissors!”
The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts ribbon-cutting ceremonies for local businesses that are expanding, rebranding or celebrating significant milestones.
“The chamber invites all community members to join in celebrating The Hub’s reopening and to experience firsthand the exciting changes at this cherished local business,” the chamber stated in the release.
The Hub is now open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night food from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
McFiler and his partners, Eddie and Pat McNally, also own McFiler’s and McFiler’s Chehalis Theater.
While The Hub’s new website is still in the works, Filer is also looking to help preserve the history of The Hub. On the McFiler’s website, there is a submission feature where patrons can submit photos from their time at The Hub prior to the renovation. Those interested in submitting photos can do so at https://www.mcfilerschehalistheater.com/the-hub.
