The Toledo baseball team might be shifting the balance of power a bit in the Central 2B League.
A day after gritting out a 1-0 win in walk-off fashion against defending league champs Toutle Lake, the Riverhawks went down Spirit Lake Highway and beat the Ducks again, this time in even more convincing fashion, 6-1.
Rogan Stanley went three innings on the mound, allowing three hits and run, and also led the offense with a 2-for-3 afternoon, complete with two RBIs and two more runs scored. Behind him, Eli Weeks went 1 for 2 and drew a pair of walks.
Opposite Stanley, Toutle Lake’s Zach Swanson struck out five but walked six, and only recorded an out in the fourth inning. For the second straight day, the TL bullpen struggled, with Toledo scoring two more runs before the Ducks could get out of the fourth, and adding three more in the fifth.
The league road won’t get much easier for Toledo, which will head to Napavine on Monday for a doubleheader against the defending district champions.
