Riverhawks Defense Steps Up in Win Over Cougars

Posted

Thanks to a tenacious defense and a balanced scoring attack, Toledo upended Seton Catholic, 39-29, Saturday night.

Led by Taylor Langham’s eight points, and Vanesa Rodriguez, Greenlee Clark, and Ryah Stanley’s seven, the Riverhawks (4-1) got out ahead and stifled the Cougar attack on defense in a strong win.

The Cougars were held to single digit scoring in every quarter save for the first.

Riverhawks coach Randy Wood praised the defensive performances of Clark, who held the Cougars leading scorer to two points, Rose Dillon for providing tons of pressure, and Abbie Marcil for pulling down seven important rebounds.

The Riverhawks next scheduled game is against Naselle at home on Saturday.
