Riverhawks Edged by Chinooks in District Playoffs

In what turned into a pitcher’s duel, Kalama was the team able to plate a single run to hand Toledo a 1-0 loss in the 2B District IV playoffs consolation bracket in Adna on Friday.

Toledo’s Caiden Schultz and Kalama’s Noah Imboden went toe-to-toe, with Schultz fanning 10 batters while allowing just one run on three hits and three walks in five innings.

Imboden was just a smidge better, tossing seven shutout innings while allowing two hits and three walks with nine Ks.

Geoffrey Glass had both of Toledo’s two hits, going 2 for 2, while Conor Gilreath, Schultz and Carson Gould each drew a walk a peice.

Imboden helped himself at the plate, driving in the Chinook’s lone run to score Dylan Mills with the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Toledo will now move on to face the loser of Ilwaco/Forks at 10 a.m., Saturday, in Shelton for fifth/sixth place in districts. The Riverhawks have already secured a regional playoff berth, regardless if they win or lose on Saturday.
