In Friday afternoon jamboree action in Longview, the Toledo baseball team soundly defeated Adna, 9-0, to start the day before finishing a scoreless tie with R.A. Long to close the day out.

In the first game against the Pirates, the Riverhawks didn’t allow a hit, as Gavin Frewing struck out all three batters he faced, Carson Gould knocked in two runs, and the Riverhawks ran away with an easy win in three innings.

In the second game, neither team could get much offense going as the Jacks and Riverhawks each finished with zero runs batted in. The highlight was a defensive play, as Aiden Umbriaco gunned down a Jack runner at home plate from right field to preserve the tie in three innings. Conor Gilreath pitched two innings and also recorded a hit, along with Kaven Winters and Zane Ranney.

The Riverhawks will officially get their season underway against Tenino on the road on Monday.
