Another strong showing from Bethany Bowen in the circle, and a standout day at the plate for Abbie Marcil helped the Toledo softball team defeat Toutle Lake at Recreation Park in Chehalis, 12-2, Monday afternoon.
Bowen pitched a complete game, allowing just two runs, both unearned, on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Marcil went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate to give Bowen plenty of run support, scoring three runs and knocking in five more for good measure.
Mialeigh Jurica also had a strong day, going 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the winning effort.
The win pushes the Riverhawks to 5-3 in league as they look to contend for a state bid in the district tournament next week.
