Riverhawks smash Naselle in non-league affair

The Toledo girls basketball team had absolutely no issues with 1B Naselle on Saturday at George Murdoch Gymnasium, a beating the Comets 44-8.

The Riverhawks held their guests to two field goals in the first quarter — and only one more after that — and while Toledo never hit first gear in its own offense, it didn't have to do much to build up a big lead early. It was only 18-5 at halftime, before Toledo went on a 14-0 run in the third quarter to put things truly out of reach.

Ryan Stanley led the Riverhawks with 17 points. Stefani Arceo-Hansen, who coach Randy Wood said played her best game of the winter, had seven.

Toledo will host Onalaska on Monday.
