The Rochester boys golf team dropped a league match against Montesano on Monday, losing 154-199 at Oaksridge.
Darin Ware led the Warriors with a 49, though Clayton Knutson, Boden Grimm, and Cash Edminster were right behind him with a trio of 50s.
Just missing out on the Rochester scorecard were Wesley Dahl (52) and Jacob Baird (53).
Montesano was led by co-match medalists Aydhn Sauer and Caden Grubb, who both shot a 37.
“Montesano brought their A-game,” Rochester coach Brian Keese said. “I think and hope that our athletes will take this one as a learning experience … We’re got a lot of young guys on varsity who are really eager and competitive, so I know we'll get there.”
The Warriors will host Tenino on Thursday at Riverside.
