The Rochester boys basketball team’s shooting woes cost them on Tuesday, as the Warriors lost to Kalama 48-40.
As a team, the Warriors shot just 30 percent from the floor, including a mark of just 13.3 percent from deep.
“The kids are doing a good job of running the offense,” Rochester coach Caleb Sells said. “We’re getting the right shots … I feel like we’re on the brink of putting up a whole bunch of points.”
Even with the shooting struggles, the Warriors were able to hang around. Brayden O’Connor scored 22 points to help get Rochester within a couple of possessions in the fourth quarter.
“He made some adjustments and he responded big for us in the second half,” Sells said. “He played a really good all-around game for us tonight and came up big down the stretch for us.”
Rochester (0-3) will hit the road Thursday to face Castle Rock.
