Sandridge Hat Trick Helps Loggers Down Wildcats

Posted

Once again led by the foot of senior Brooklyn Sandridge, the Onalaska girls soccer team upended Ocosta in the first round of the 2B District 4 playoffs, 4-1, Tuesday night at home to vault into a district semifinal matchup with Adna on Thursday.

Though Sandridge had the hat trick, Jules Auman scored in the opening moments off a find from Sandridge to give the Loggers an early lead. After the Wildcats responded with a goal of their own in the seventh, the teams traded possession throughout most of the rest of the first half.

In the 38th, Sandridge found her first goal unassisted to give the Loggers a lead they would never relinquish. Sandridge scored again in the 47th off an assist from her sister, Kaiyah, and again in the 61st off a find from Auman to round out the scoring and the hatty.

Defensively, Kate Zandell had a strong game with seven clears, and keeper Hailee Brown had seven saves in the net.

The Loggers will take on Adna in the district semis on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Kalama High School.
