Santa and Mrs. Claus to Touch Down at Adna Store Saturday Via Helicopter

Posted

At noon on Saturday, Dec. 4, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be landing in a helicopter across the street from the Adna Grocery Store, weather-permitting, thanks to store owners Jim and Cindy Smith.

This event also took place at the store last year, but this time Santa will come inside the store for photos and to give kids gifts. He and Mrs. Claus are expected to mill about the neighborhood for a while before entering the store. The store’s event will end around 3 p.m. when the tree lighting ceremony at Back Memorial Park is set to take place.

“We have to pay for it but it’s well worth it, if you saw the kids last year, it was awesome. Just really awesome. … It’s pretty cool, we buy gifts for the kids. There’s a lot of kids out there that don’t get much,” said Jim Smith. “I hope we get a good turnout. I hope the weather is good and I want to see a lot of smiles.”
