Seattle Mariners announce 'Opening Week Warm-Up' event for fans

It's not FanFest. That longtime event held T-Mobile Park to get fans excited about spring training and the upcoming season hasn't occurred since before the 2018 season. And it's uncertain if it will ever happen again.

But in an effort to generate interest and excitement for the upcoming 2024 season, the Mariners have created a new event for baseball fans just ahead of opening day on March 28.

On Thursday afternoon, the organization, working in conjunction with Starbucks, announced it will be hosting the "Mariners Opening Week Warm-Up" on Sunday, March 24 at T-Mobile Park.

Fans attending the event will be able to watch the Mariners play the Chicago Cubs on the massive MarinersVision scoreboard in center field.

Per the press release, "fans will take over the ballpark with behind-the-scenes access" and also watch television broadcast of that afternoon's game between the Mariners and Cubs on the massive MarinersVision video screen in center field.

The all-access activities for fans will include:

  • Run around the bases
  • Pitch in the Mariners bullpen
  • Photo opportunities in the dugout
  • Hear from the team down in Arizona as they prepare for their game against the Cubs
  • Autograph and photo sessions with Mariners legends and future Mariners stars
  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Mariners Clubhouse, the Visitors' Clubhouse, Muckleshoot Diamond Club and the Muckleshoot Interview Room
  • Special Mariners Team Store Sidewalk Sale

Concessions will be available during the event with fans able to enjoy the new line-up of value beers and value menu food items, which will be available this coming season. There will also be raffles with "one-of-a-kind" prizes, including the chance to throw out a first pitch on opening day.

Tickets are $10 while kids 14 and under are free. Gates open at 11 a.m. for Season Ticket Members and 12 p.m. for all fans. The event concludes at 4 p.m. Parking at the Mariners Garage is $10, while space lasts. After the event, fans can head across the street to Hatback Bar & Grille and receive 20% off when they show their Mariners Opening Week Warm-Up ticket.
