The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing child: 5-year-old Oakley Carlson of Oakville.

Law enforcement became involved on Monday when a neighbor asked them to check on Oakley’s welfare.

The investigation is in its initial stages, but detectives consider the circumstances of Oakley’s disappearance to be suspicious, according to the sheriff’s office.

Her parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, both of Oakville, are considered persons of interest. Both were arrested Monday evening for allegedly obstructing a law enforcement officer and on suspicion of manslaughter, according to Undersheriff Brad Johansson. Manslaughter charges haven’t been filed, but both have been formally charged with obstruction and are in custody at the Grays Harbor County Jail.

Anyone who knows Oakley’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact 911.

Detectives are asking to speak with anyone who has seen Oakley in the last year or has information on her welfare. They can call the dispatch non-emergency number at 360-533-8765 and ask to speak with a deputy, call Detective Sergeant Paul Logan at 360-964-1729 or email sodetectives@co.grays-harbor.wa.us.
