Continuing Adna softball’s strong run of pitching of late, freshman hurler Ava Simms threw a complete game, five-inning shutout Friday evening against Toutle Lake, totalling 10 strikeouts with no walks in a 12-0 win for the Pirates.
Simms’ performance is fresh off the heels of Karlee Von Moos’ three-inning perfect game against Winlock earlier this week, with the freshman also racking up three hits and two RBIs.
Not to be completely outdone by her pitcher, junior Brooklyn Loose recorded three hits with four RBIs and a home run to lead the Pirate offense, and Von Moos went 3 for 4 with four RBIs herself.
The Pirates will next take the field against Toledo at 10 a.m. Saturday.
