Sirens: Malicious Mischief  Reported; DUIs; Injury Motorcycle Accident; Theft and Burglary

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Malicious Mischief 

• A juvenile was arrested in the 2800 block of Russell Road just before 9:30 a.m. on July 30 and was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for third-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence. 

• A report of graffiti on a building in the 1200 block of Mellen Street just after 7:45 a.m. on Aug. 1 is under investigation. 

Assault 

• Joseph D. Cannon, 21, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of North Pearl and West Fourth streets just after 12:10 p.m. on July 30 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• Andrew R. Segerman, 21, of Chehalis, was arrested in the 900 block of Mikayla Lane just before 1:10 a.m. on July 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• Derrick R. Hamblin, 18, of Centralia, was arrested in the 300 block of Lowe Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree assault after he allegedly struck and threatened to kill a juvenile. 

• Second-degree assault charges against Rafael A. Cuellar, 22, of Centralia, were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office after he allegedly attempted to strangle someone in the 1100 block of South Pearl Street just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 1. 

DUI 

• Garrett H. Vanree, 28, of Oregon, was arrested in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue at 11:35 p.m. on July 30 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

• Christina J. Smith, 35, of Rochester, was arrested in the 1300 block of North Pearl Street just after 6:50 p.m. on July 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

• Ti M. Huffman, 24, of Chehalis, was arrested in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at 10:10 p.m. on July 31 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

Motorcycle Accident 

• A motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the 1000 block of Alder Street just after 12:45 a.m. on July 31. 

Theft and Burglary 

• Vehicle tires were reported stolen from an open, unlocked garage in the 1300 block of South Scheuber Road just after 2:15 p.m. on July 31. 

• A catalytic converter theft reported in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on July 31 is under investigation. 

• A subject was cited for first-degree burglary in the 1500 block of Pike Street at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Aug. 1 after he allegedly broke into a residence and stole a laptop. 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Assault 



• A male subject reportedly shot a woman with a paintball gun at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 4:20 p.m. on July 31. 

• A second-degree assault reported in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 1 is under investigation. 

Crash 

• A woman reported minor injuries after her vehicle was rear-ended in traffic at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 11:40 a.m. on July 30. 

Identity Theft 

• At approximately 2:50 p.m. on July 30, a caller in the 10 block of Southeast Third Street reported someone else was using his Social Security number. 

Counterfeiting 

At 5:50 p.m. on July 30, a business in the 800 block of West Main Street reported receiving counterfeit bills on either July 27 or July 28. 

Theft 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 10:40 p.m. on July 30 is under investigation. 

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 2100 block of North National Avenue just before 8:20 a.m. on July 31.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 1700 block of North National Avenue just after 5:10 p.m. on July 31.

Under Investigation 

• Information reported in the 900 block of West Main Street just before 5:25 p.m. on July 30 is under investigation. 

• Information reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 6:35 p.m. on Aug. 1 is under investigation.

Malicious Mischief 

• At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, a caller reported vandalism had occurred in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue around 10 p.m. the night before. 

Dog in Vehicle 

• Just after 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, a caller reported a dog locked in a vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL  STATISTICS 

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 142 inmates, including 124 in the general population and 18 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 107 were reported male and 17 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
