Sirens: Morton Teen Jailed for Burglary; Vehicular Assault; Criminal Impersonation; Theft

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft and Burglary

• At 7 a.m. on Oct. 15, there was a report of a burglary at a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road that occurred sometime overnight in which a window was broken and items were stolen. The incident is under investigation.

• An air compressor and a nail gun were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1800 block of North Pearl Street at 12:20 p.m. on Oct. 15.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Alexander Street just before 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 15.

• A subject was cited for second-degree vehicle prowl in the 200 block of East High Street just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 for being inside a vehicle that didn’t belong to them.

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 100 block of West High Street at 11:40 a.m. on Oct. 16.

• At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 17, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Pear Street sometime overnight.

• Isaac Hiatt, 19, of Morton, was arrested in the 300 block of East Main Street just after 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree burglary.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 3400 block of Fords Prairie Road just after 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 16 is under investigation.

• Edwin C. Copeland, 31, of Centralia, was arrested in the 300 block of East Main Street just after 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree assault and vehicular assault.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run to a parked vehicle in the 1300 block of B Street was reported just after 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 13. The incident is under investigation.

 

Criminal Impersonation

• A subject was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged criminal impersonation and for outstanding warrants out of Centralia Municipal Court.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft



• A wallet was reported stolen from a shopping cart inside a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 8 a.m. on Oct. 15.

• A camper trailer was reported stolen from the 2100 block of North National Avenue just before 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 16.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just before 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 16.

• A possible attempted vehicle prowl was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 2:40 a.m. on Oct. 18. The suspects reportedly jacked up a vehicle and were trying to drill into it but fled, leaving the car jacked up.   

 

Crash

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just before noon on Oct. 15.

 

Criminal Trespass

• A subject was arrested in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place just after 10 a.m. on Oct. 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail after allegedly trespassing and causing a disturbance at a motel.

 

Death Investigation

• A death reported in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just before 11 a.m. on Oct. 16 is under investigation.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 142 inmates, including 125 in the general population and 17 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 108 were reported male and 17 were reported female. All WERC inmates were reported male.
