CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hit-and-Runs

• A subject was arrested and released for suspected involvement in a hit-and-run collision in the 1000 block of Kresky Avenue that was reported at 10:50 a.m. on April 9. The incident is under investigation.

• A man was arrested just before midnight on April 9 for alleged involvement in a suspected DUI traffic accident that resulted in damage to personal property in the 2400 to 2600 blocks of North Pearl Street.

• A hit-and-run collision at the intersection of West Reynolds and View avenues was reported at approximately 8:55 p.m. on April 10.

• A hit-and-run collision in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue that was reported just before 2:10 p.m. on April 11 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 12:05 p.m. on April 9, a cellphone and Nintendo Switch were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of South Oak Street sometime the night before.

 

Theft

• Theft of food was reported  in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 12:45 p.m. on April 9.

• A man was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just before 2 p.m. on April 11 for alleged third-degree theft and was released.

• Just before 6:10 p.m. on April 11, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 100 block of Scammon Creek Road sometime the night before. The incident is under investigation.

 

Crashes

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision in the 400 block of Galvin Road was reported at 4:40 p.m. on April 9.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Belmont and Harrison avenues was reported at 5:50 p.m. on April 11.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Just before 9:15 a.m. on April 10, a victim reported that their vehicle’s windows in the 900 block of B Street were broken sometime overnight.

• Melissa K. Green, 29, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East 4th Street just after 4:20 p.m. on April 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree malicious mischief.

 

DUI

• Gustavo A. Ayala, 26, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of Cedarwood Drive and Borst Avenue at 11:20 p.m. on April 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. During the same incident, a man was arrested and released for allegedly obstructing a public servant.

 

Minor in Possession                             of Alcohol

• A juvenile was arrested in the 100 block of Pioneer Way just after 12:20 a.m. on April 11 for alleged possession of alcohol by a minor and was released to parents.

 

Assault

• A woman was arrested in the 1100 block of Long Road at approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 11 and was issued a court summons for alleged attempted fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, after alleged involvement in an altercation with a family member.

Criminal Trespass

• Just before 1:45 p.m. on April 9, a caller requested that a disorderly male who was allegedly harassing customers and employees in the 700 block of South Market Boulevard and “yelling at everyone and saying he doesn’t need to wear a mask” be trespassed. No arrests were made.

• Just before 6:50 p.m. on April 9, a caller in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue requested that a disorderly male “running around the store asking for money,” “making threats,” “throwing things around” and “yelling at customers” be trespassed from the business. No arrests were made.

• Just after 1 p.m. on April 10, a caller in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard requested that a male subject “looking through their door and harassing patients” who then allegedly attempted to break into a woman’s car “and asking how old she was” be trespassed.

• Just after 3:50 a.m. on April 11, a caller in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place requested that a man who entered the building be removed.

•At 1:25 p.m. on April 11, a caller in the 100 block of South Market Boulevard requested that a man “carrying a crack pipe, asking for food” and to “take a nap” be trespassed.

• Just after 1:50 p.m. on April 11, a caller in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard requested that a man “in the store harassing customers” be trespassed.

 

Crashes

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was reported at approximately 1:45 p.m. on April 9.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of North Market Boulevard and Northeast Cascade Avenue was reported at approximately 2:45 p.m. on April 10.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was reported just after 6 p.m. on April 10.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was reported just after 3:25 p.m. on April 11.

 

Protection Order Violation

• Jesse J. Wheeler, 39, of Chehalis, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. on April 9 in the 600 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for an alleged protection order violation.

 

Under Investigation

• A “hazardous condition” in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way that was reported just after 7:30 p.m. on April 9 is under investigation.

• An incident of resisting or interfering with a police officer that was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:45 a.m. on April 12 is under investigation. No arrests have been made.

 

Assault

• Angel R. Jackson, 19, of Chehalis, was arrested just after 6:45 p.m. on April 10 in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault after alleged involvement in a physical dispute.

 

Vicious Dog

• At 1:05 p.m. on April 11, a caller in the 500 block of Northeast Adams Avenue reported that a neighbor’s dog bit them.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 151 inmates, including 109 in the general population and 42 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 89 were reported male and 20 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 33 were reported male and nine were reported female.
