Sirens: Woman threatens customers, crash injures both drivers, Apple watches stolen

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal trespass 

• A homeless woman from Centralia was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 8:50 a.m. on Dec. 13 for reportedly “causing alarm to customers by screaming and yelling for no apparent reason.” 

• A 29-year-old Olympia man was cited for trespassing on a property in the 100 block of South Silver Street just after 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

• An Oregon man was trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 13 for reportedly “making threats of harm to individuals going into the business.” 

 

Vehicle accidents 

• A two-vehicle injury collision occurred at the intersection of northbound Interstate 5 and Mellen Street at approximately 9:05 a.m.on Dec. 13 when a westbound vehicle failed to stop at the red light and collided with a northbound vehicle in the intersection. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to Centralia Providence Hospital for medical treatment.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of South Silver Street and Centralia College Boulevard at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 when the driver of one vehicle failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle.

 

Theft 

• Just before 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 13, a license plate was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Howard Avenue sometime within the last month. 

• A package containing shoes was reported stolen from a residence in the 900 block of J Street just after 5:25 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

• Just before 5:35 p.m. on Dec. 13, a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road reported an unidentified suspect stole four display Apple watches then fled the store on foot about 30 minutes prior. 

 

Sexual misconduct 

• A sexual misconduct case involving an 83-year-old man who allegedly inappropriately touched an elderly female was reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 13. The case is under investigation. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• Vehicle magnets were reported stolen from the 1600 block of North National Avenue just after 9:25 a.m. on Dec. 14. 

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11:10 a.m. on Dec. 14. 

• A subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 14 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft. The subject received medical care for chest pain. 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 14 is under investigation. 

• A subject was cited for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 14. 

• A woman was cited for shoplifting in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

• Just after 4:35 p.m. on Dec. 13, an attempted vehicle prowl that occurred in the 500 block of Northwest Rhode Island Place that morning was reported. 

• A possible vehicle prowl was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Gertrude Street just before 5 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

 



Harassment 

• A case of harassment reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 10 a.m. on Dec. 14 is under investigation. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A male subject who was reportedly going through dumpsters in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place just after 3:55 p.m. on Dec. 14 was trespassed from the area.

• A male subject who was wearing a beanie, a poncho, basketball shorts, socks and no shoes was trespassed from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 5:10 p.m. on Dec. 14. The subject reportedly had symptoms of hypothermia. Medical aid was dispatched. 

• Two homeless people who were reportedly blocking a business’ entrance in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard were moved along just after 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 13. 

• A subject was reportedly trespassing at Chehalis Middle School in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street at 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 13. 

• A male subject was reportedly trespassing in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 13. 

• A male subject was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of Southwest Market Boulevard at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

 

Vehicle accidents 

• A non-injury vehicle accident was reported in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:05 p.m. on Dec. 14. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North National Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 4:05 p.m. on Dec. 13. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• A male subject who was “dressed nicely” was reportedly “checking doors like he was trying to get inside” in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14. 

 

Assault 

• A fourth-degree assault reported in the 300 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue just after 8:10 p.m. on Dec. 14 is under investigation. 

 

Dispute 

• At 11:05 a.m. on Dec. 13, a possible physical dispute that took place between 3 and 5 a.m. in the 500 block of Northwest Rhode Island Place was reported. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 153 inmates, including 140 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 114 were reported male and 26 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
