The Black Hills wrestling teams headed north to compete in the Hammerhead Invite in Bremerton on Saturday, and six Wolves returned home with top-eight finishes.

On the girls’ side, Sloane Kruger (100) won her weight class, while Izzy Steinebach (155) finished third and Maddie Payne (170) placed fifth.

For the boys, Roberto Rivera-Jesus (106) placed third, Cash Boos (132) finished fourth, and Ammon Combs (175) took eighth.

Of the 43 girls teams at the tournament, Black Hills placed 11th, and of the 56 boys teams present, the Wolves finished 15th.

“We had a very good weekend,” Black Hills wrestling coach Jason Dick said. “I was proud of our Wolf Pack for going up there, competing against some of the best in the state, and walking out with medals. That is a great accomplishment, and I am proud of all of them.”
