Slow Start Spells Trouble for Toledo

Wahkiakum reeled off a 15-0 run to start the game and Toledo was unable to recover as the Riverhawks took a 49-25 defeat in Central 2B League play on Tuesday.

“They had really balanced scoring and they took it to us tonight,” Toledo coach Randy Wood.

After trailing 15-0, the Riverhawks were outscored in each of the final three quarters as well in a tough offensive night for Toledo.

Vanesa Rodriguez led the Riverhawks with six points, while Rose Dillon added five and Ryah Stanley and Taylor Langhaim each pitched in four.

Toledo continues league play when it hosts Napavine on Wednesday.
