At least one staff member and three White Pass Jr. Sr. High School students have been diagnosed with COVID-19 following an athletic event last week on campus.

Those who have been identified as close contacts have been notified, the school district said in a Sunday evening letter.

As a result, the school’s boys basketball program’s season has come to an end and other school-based activities are being considered. The high school is planning on moving forward with senior class activities and graduation.

“White Pass Jr. Sr. High will remain open during this time for full onsite instruction,” the district’s letter read, adding later: “We are in contact with the Lewis County health department and have conducted contact tracing … Each contacted person will quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.”
