2A: No. 9 W.F. West vs. No. 8 Anacortes at Foss High School, 10 a.m. Saturday

The Bearcats punched their ticket to state Saturday after falling in the 2A District 4 semifinals to No. 2 Columbia River, defeating Mark Morris, 7-6, in 11 innings to pick up their fifth straight state bid. The Bearcats finished the season 17-6 and 11-4 in the 2A Evergreen Conference, behind just No. 4 Tumwater.

The Seahawks finished 16-7 and 12-5 in league play, where in the district tournament they fell to No. 10 Archbishop Murphy but defeated Cedarcrest to earn a state bid.

2A: No. 4 Tumwater vs. No. 13 Shadle Park at Chehalis, 1 p.m. Saturday

The Thunderbirds ran unscathed through the district tournament, but succumbed to a late rally by No. 2 Columbia River to fall in the 2A District 4 title game and finish as runner ups. A 9-1 defeat of No. 12 Shelton in the semifinals guaranteed a state bid. The T-Birds finished the regular season 17-6 and 12-3 in league play, winning a 2A EvCo title.

The Highlanders finished 18-5 and 13-3 in league play, and fell in the district championship game against West Valley of Spokane in their most recent outing, 11-8.

2B: No. 4 Napavine v. No. 13 Colfax at 1 p.m., Adna High School Saturday

After finishing the regular season with the Central 2B’s sixth-best record, the Tigers made an unprecedented run through the 2B District 4 tournament, defeating Pe Ell-Willapa Valley, 14-11, upsetting No. 7 Kalama in the semifinals, before dispatching future MLB draft pick Jackson Cox and No. 1 Toutle Lake in the title game, 4-3.

The Bulldogs finished 11-9 and 8-8 in league play during the regular season.

2B: No. 14 Toledo vs. No. 3 Jenkins (Chewelah) at 1 p.m., Shadle Park High School Saturday

The Riverhawks locked up a regional bid after defeating Ilwaco in the district quarterfinals, and defeated the Fishermen again in the fifth-place game to avoid the No. 16 seed that the Fishermen were awarded. Toledo finished as the Central 2B’s No. 3 seed in the regular season.

One of the top teams in the state, Chewelah went 20-2 and 15-1 in league play in the regular season east of the mountains.

1B: No. 10 Mossyrock vs. No. 7 Mount Vernon Christian at TBD, TBD, Tuesday

After finishing as league and district runner-ups to Naselle, the Vikings had to win a glue game against Darrington to qualify for the regional round for the first time since 2013. Mossyrock won that loser-out, winner-to-regional contest, 5-2.

Mount Vernon Christian went 10-7 and 7-5 in league play in the regular season. The winner of Tuesday’s game takes on No. 2 Almira Coulee Hartline in the next round.
