Sticklin-Brown Funeral Chapel to host Chamber October Business After Hours

Posted

Sticklin-Brown Funeral Chapel will host the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce October Business After Hours event on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Guests will enjoy appetizers, prizes and historic tours of the facility — including the funeral preparation room — aimed at helping remove the veil of uncertainty surrounding funeral services.

Sticklin Funeral Chapel has deep roots in Lewis County, providing funeral and cremation services to families for more than a century.

The business was founded by Swiss cabinet maker Louis Jacob Sticklin in 1890 when he opened a cabinet and coffin-making shop. Two years later, in 1892, he began offering mortuary services throughout the county.

Recently, Sticklin merged with Brown Funeral Services to form Sticklin-Brown Funeral Chapel, which is currently located at 1437 S Gold St. in Centralia.

The company is known for its compassionate care and personalized services that reflect the lives and passions of those being remembered, according to a Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce news release. Past services have even included a cherished horse and a favorite motorcycle to honor the unique lives of the departed.

The chamber’s Business After Hours events take place monthly on the third Thursday and are hosted by different chamber members. These gatherings offer valuable opportunities for local businesses to connect, collaborate and grow, according to the chamber.
