Stout, Hughes Win Individual Races, Mossyrock Wins as Team in Mountains

Seven 2B schools went out east to where the mountains rise high for a cross country meet at Cascade Peaks, and a pair of local runners came away with individual wins.

On the boys’ side, Adna junior Jordan Stout came across the finish line first with a time of 17:08.36. For the girls, Morton-White Pass senior Ayricka Hughes won her home meet in 22:30.95.

Mossyrock won the team title for the boys, with Christian Paz Tapia (17:36.68), Hugo Wedam (18:01.23), and Miguel Gomez (18:05.08) finishing second, third, and fourth, respectively. Ethan Wedam finished 11th in 21:30.18, and Luis Contreras (21:52.51) was 13th.

Behind Stout, Bailey Davis (19:46.45) took ninth for Adna, Kolton Moon (20:25.33) was 10th, Nathanael Scheuber (21:52.92) was 14th, and Zane Powell (22:45.00) was 18th. The Pirates took second as a team.

MWP’s boys were led by Hunter Bracket (18:39.30) in fifth and Eric Brown (18:44.31) in sixth. Anthony Snyder (20:16.40) was ninth, and Max Lowe (22:02.52) and Aiden Kampa (22:04.44) were 15th and 16th, respectively.



Winlock’s Chase Trodahl took seventh with a time of 19:07.29, and Ricky Thompson was 17th for the Cardinals in 22:25.68.

No schools brought enough racers to the course to log a team score in the girls race. Mossyrock’s Joan Wedam was second in 23:20, while Miley Barnes was eighth in 20:46.52.

Adna got a fifth-place finish from Megan Price in 27:09.02, Megan Stout was seventh at 29:19.98, and Mandy was ninth in 33:06.52.
