Led by Ryan Orr’s dominant day on the mound and at the plate, the Tumwater baseball team bounced back from its third straight loss Tuesday to defeat Shelton, 4-0, and even the season series with the Highclimbers at 1-1, Wednesday at home.

Orr pitched five innings, allowed just one hit, and struck out eight, and mashed a home run in the third inning to give the Thunderbirds a 4-0 lead early after Brayden Oram scored on a passed ball in the second and Alex Overbay and Eddie Marson singled to score two runs in the first.

Blake Smith shut the door on the Highclimbers in relief, going two innings without allowing a hit in the shutout performance from the pitching pair.

The T-Birds (4-3, 2-2 2A EvCo) will take on Timberline in their next game on Friday at 4 p.m.
