T-Birds Hold Tigers to Two Second-Half Points

Nine Tumwater players in total scored, including four in double-digits, as the Thunderbirds hammered visiting Centralia 74-13 in a 2A Evergreen Conference matchup on Monday.

Natalie Sumrok scored 17, Kylie Waltermeter 14, Aubrey Amendala chipped in 13 and Isabella Lund finished with 11 as the Thunderbirds dominated from start to finish.

“She’s got them playing so hard and well,” Centralia coach Doug Ashmore said of Tumwater and its coach Robin Johnson. “They’re a tough matchup for us.”

The Tigers were held to just two points in the second half and have now lost six in a row. They were led by Makayla Chavez’ team-high six points, while Emily Wilkerson added four and Maddie Corwin finished with two.

Tumwater (15-1, 8-0 EvCo) hosts league rival W.F. West on Wednesday. Centralia (5-6, 3-4 EvCo) hosts Black Hills on Wednesday.
