After taking a two set lead in White Pass Tuesday, the Morton-White Pass volleyball team clung to victory in a five-set match against Rainier, 25-21, 25-23, 24-26, 17-25, 15-13.

The Timberwolves had a spread out offensive attack, with five players registering multi-kill nights.

“It was a tight match,” T-Wolves coach Tammy Kelly said. “The girls preserved and were able to get what we needed done. We did spread the offense out which I like but the consistency isn’t there yet.”

Kelly Pakar had five kills, Abigail Sympson added three kills and five aces, Breejah Townsend had three kills and three blocks, Emarey Hampton served a perfect 18 of 18 with three kills, and Chloe Kelly played another all-around strong game with seven kills, two blocks, and 16 assists.

On the other side, the Mountaineers nearly completed the comeback. Acacia Murphy and Lilly Peck had 12 kills each, Brooklynn Swenson added 30 assists from the setter spot, and Olivia Earsley dug up 46 balls in the back row.

MWP takes on Kalama next on Thursday while Rainier takes on Toutle Lake.
