The Morton-White Pass volleyball team came away with an impressive road win on Tuesday, defeating Adna 17-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20 in a non-league matchup.

“The girls showed a lot of great things tonight,” Morton-White Pass coach Jamie Brazil said. “They pulled together, hit the reset button, and came out stronger, which is something that in the past seasons we’ve struggled to do.

We’ve been focusing on building a strong, positive team connection, and I think that really shined through on the court,” Brazil continued. “It was exciting to see that growth in action.”

Ryelin Wiedenmann led the way with 12 kills, 12 digs, and four aces, while Crystal Dygert logged 20 assists. Malia Armstrong led the defensive effort with 40 digs, while Hayden Brazil and Jewel Dygert combined for 25 digs.

McKenna Torrey led the Pirates with nine digs, eight kills, and five aces, while Taylor Johnson added nine assists and three aces. Shelby Eixenberger had 10 digs, Kylinn York dished out 15 assists, Hadleigh Gerard logged seven digs, and Emma Kissner had five kills.

“We are learning to work as one cohesive team,” Adna coach Wendie Dotson said. “At times, we struggled playing together instead of as individuals.”

Both teams are back in action on Thursday in non-league games. MWP (4-1) will host Winlock in White Pass and Adna (1-4) will head to Toledo.
