The Mossyrock girls basketball team knocked Columbia Adventist out in the first quarter, added to the blowout in the second, and eased off the gas in the second half, downing the Kodiaks 65-18 on Thursday in a 1B CVL matchup.

Another night where everyone got to see the court and score some points,” Mossyrock coach Autumn Moorcroft said. “These games are great for us as a team to help everyone gain some confidence and feel a little more comfortable out on the court, as well as focus in on certain aspects of our defense and offense.”

The Vikings shut their hosts out in the first quarter, and turned a 22-0 game into a 47-5 lead at halftime.

Caelyn Marshall led all scorers with 16 points, and also came away with seven steals. Payton Torrey scored 10 points and logged six boards, five swipes, and five assists. Renzy Marshall had eight points and nine rebounds, and Delaney Marshall and Hailey Brooks both scored eight points.

Next up for Mossyrock is a battle of the top two teams in the 1B CVL, with the Vikings hosting undefeated-in-league Willapa Valley on Tuesday.
