The Tenino and Rochester track teams competed in a league meet in Hoquiam on Wednesday, and the Beaver boys came away with a win with 198 team points.
The Rochester boys finished second in the team standings, while the Rochester and Tenino girls finished third and fourth on the girls side.
Tenino won each of the shorter races, with Ashton Moore winning the 100, Austin Johnson winning the 200, and Tucker Matheson winning the 400.
Rochester’s Gunnar Morgan swept the distance races, winning the 800, 1,600, and 3,200.
Tenino’s Carson Schall won the 300-meter hurdles, while Rochester’s relay team of Dominic Delgado, Xander Peterman, Jay Johnson, and Luke Meckle won the 4x100.
Guy Lowery (shot put), Parker Minerich (discus), and Moore (long jump) won field events for the Beavers, while Le’shawn Hines won both the long jump and the triple jump for the Warriors.
On the girls side, Rochester’s Mercedies Dupont won the 200, and Kailyn Black won both hurdles races. Both girls joined Kenna Pratt and Jordyn Johnson to win the 4x200 relay.
Tenino’s Emily Battin (400), Samantha Smith (800), Bynn Williams (1,600), and Haley Buber (3,200) all won their races.
Rochester’s Brooklyn Alfonso was the lone area girl to win a field event at the meet, as she won the javelin with a new personal best throw of 109 feet.
