Tenino swept by Mossyrock in non-league finale

The Tenino volleyball team dropped its second game in a row on Monday, as the Beavers were swept by Mossyrock 25-19, 26-24, 25-21.

“It was a well fought game,” Tenino coach Shauna Carpenter said. “We made some mental errors which could have changed the outcome, but we grew a lot and have a great mindset going into league.”

Macy Griffis led the Beavers with 16 assists and 10 digs, while Katen Burkhardt added seven digs, seven assists, three kills, and three aces.

Brianna Asay logged seven digs, five kills, and a pair of aces. Sequoia Zimmer (12 for 12) and Kylee Pretrich (7 for 7) were perfect serving, and Petrick added 17 digs and eight kills.

Mossyrock (3-1) will host Adna in a non-league matchup on Tuesday, while Tenino (2-3) will host Montesano in its league opener on Thursday.
