The St. Helens Club of Chehalis is accepting applications for a $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to a woman who has completed at least two years of college and intends to continue working toward an academic degree at a four-year institution, according to a news release.

Applicants must be residents of Lewis County prior to attending college.

Founded in 1895, the St. Helens Club is one of Washington’s first women’s clubs. Its purpose is to promote interest in literature, the arts, science and “the vital issues of the day.”

To request a scholarship application, email st.helensclub@gmail.com or call scholarship chair Jeanne Nygard at 360-269-2487.

April 15 is the deadline for submissions.
