Theda Jean Allender: 1945-2021

Theda Jean Allender, born Oct. 9, 1945, in North Carolina, passed away peacefully May 10, 2021, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash., after suffering a stroke. She moved to Washington State in the early 1960’s, following her parents, Bill and Frances Plemmons.
Theda met and married Ralph Allender from Winlock, and had a son, Rick, in 1966. After her divorce from Ralph, Theda moved to Chehalis and began working as a job coach at Lewis County Work Opportunities. She loved her job and held it for more than 20 years before retiring. She loved singing karaoke on Friday nights at the Eagles in Chehalis and spending time with her family and friends.
Theda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James “Sonny” Hill; and niece, Deanna Hill.
She is survived by her son, Rick (Sue); one grandson, Conner (Rachel); brothers, Ron Plemmons and Billy Plemmons; and sisters, Vivian Miles and Brenda Suomi. She also leaves behind a roommate of 25 years, David Groat, who was like a son to her.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge in Chehalis, Wash.
