Thunderbirds Blow Out Wolves in Rivalry Tilt

Three Tumwater players combined for 60 points as the Thunderbirds bashed Black Hills, 82-16, in the annual rivalry match in Tumwater on Thursday.

Aubrey Amendala exploded for a career-high 30 points to lead the T-Birds offensively. She shot an absurd 11 of 12 (92%) from the field, including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. She also added a game-high seven assists and eight steals in an all-around performance.

Tumwater, which held Black Hills to single-digit scoring in all four quarters, jumped out to a 16-3 lead and never looked back, outscoring the Wolves 23-7 in the second quarter, 24-3 in the third and 19-3 in the final frame.



Natalie Sumrok pitched in 20 points on a red-hot 10 of 13 (77%) shooting from the floor, while Kylie Waltermeyer capped out the double-figure scoring for Tumwater with 10 points on 5 of 9 (56%) shooting to go with five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Lily Mcauley and Isabella Lund each added eight points, Hadley Woods had four points and four rebounds and Regan Brewer finished with two points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Tumwater hosts Class 4A Camas on Monday in a non-league matchup. Black Hills hosts River Ridge in a non-league contest on Monday.
