Tumwater had four players in double digits and the Thunderbirds flew past Centralia 84-25 for their ninth-consecutive win on Friday in 2A Evergreen Conference play.

Natalie Sumrok scored a game-high 17 points, Aubrey Amendala tallied 13, Lily McCauley and Kylie Waltermeyer added 12 each and Isabella Lund chipped in 10 for the T-Birds.

The game was out of reach early for the Tigers as Tumwater blasted out on a 32-6 run to start the game before leading 62-9 at the half. They outscored the Tigers 19-16 in the second half to clinch the win.

“(Tumwater) is good. Give them credit,” Centralia coach Doug Ashmore said. “They work hard.”

The Tigers were led by Grace Schofield, Emily Wilkerson and Makayla Chavez, who all finished with six points on the night.

“Chavez showed improvement running the point, Schofield had six points off the bench and Wilkerson also had six points. So it was nice to see that from three sophomores,” Ashmore said.

Centralia (6-7, 4-5 EvCo) travels to W.F. West for the second round of the Swamp Cup on Tuesday.

Tumwater (17-1, 10-0 EvCo) heads to Black Hills for a rivalry match on Tuesday.
