Running rampant on Shelton on the road, the No. 5 Tumwater football team defeated the Highclimbers, 49-7, Friday night.
The Thunderbirds were led by a ferocious rushing attack once again, with 244 yards on the ground and 131 through the air from quarterback Alex Overbay, who tossed three scores and ran in another.
Carlos Matheney again led the T-Birds on the ground, rushing for 147 yards with two scores, and Logan Cole added 90 yards on the ground. Luke Reid brought a punt return to the house to round out the scoring for the away side.
The Thunderbirds (6-1, 3-1 2A EvCo) will travel to Rochester next Friday to play the Warriors in their final regular season trip away from home.
