Thurston County residents will have the opportunity to hear from a collection of elected officials about where the county is headed in 2025.
The Thurston County Chamber of Commerce will host the county’s annual State of the Community Address from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Sponsored by Puget Sound Energy, the event will take place in the Norman Worthington Conference Center at Saint Martin's University, located at 5300 Pacific Ave SE in Lacey.
“This highly anticipated annual gathering promises an energizing experience, featuring insightful discussions on critical topics that matter most to us all,” the Thurston County Chamber stated in a news release announcing the event. “Recognizing the pulse of our community, topics will include affordable housing, strategies to combat the housing crisis, fostering high-wage job creation, and establishing robust connections for youth to mental health services.”
The lineup for the event will include:

• Tumwater Mayor Debbie Sullivan
• Olympia Mayor Dontae Payne
• Yelm Mayor Joe DePinto
• Tenino Mayor David Watterson
• Thurston County Commissioner Tye Menser
Tickets to the event cost $30 for chamber members who preregister online, and $35 for non-members who preregister online. At 5 p.m. on Jan. 3, prices will increase to $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
