Local real estate agent Tiffany Weaver and her clients Tyler Edkin and Tylar Peters will be featured on an upcoming edition of the HGTV television series “House Hunters.”

For the uninitiated, a typical episode of “House Hunters” goes like this: A couple-of-the-week tour select houses alongside their camera-friendly agent. They view, they debate, they decide, and, in the end, they close on their dream home. Naturally, different tastes can make for lively conversation, and better TV.

While Weaver couldn’t reveal the exact details of her episode, she did suggest real back-and-forth discussions among her clients.

“They definitely had some disagreements,” Weaver said of Edkin and Peters. “Tyler really wants luxury, top of the line, modern, and the other Tylar wants rustic and acreage.”

“They are such fun people,” Weaver added. “They raise emus in their backyard.”

In fact, the episode is titled “A Home for Emus in Washington.”

Weaver, a Rainier resident, and Edkin, who is from Yelm, have been friends for years.

“I actually helped him buy his first house several years ago,” Weaver said.

When Edkin and Peters decided to take the next step and buy their own place together, they reached out to Weaver. Then they got an idea.

“Somewhere along the line, Tyler heard about ‘House Hunters’ on HGTV,” Weaver said. According to Weaver, Edkin submitted an application to the show. The producers expressed interest, but certain conditions had to be met before they committed to filming — including a major one involving Weaver.

“I had to audition for my own job,” Weaver said, adding that she had to prove she was “TV-worthy.”

She did. “And they said, ‘Yes.’”

Weaver is no stranger to big onscreen moments. Her fiancé, Steven England, proposed to her during their appearance on the Amazon Prime reality competition show “Beast Games,” which aired on Dec. 19, 2024. Their experience was featured in a previous edition of the Nisqually Valley News.

Pie Town Productions, the production company behind the longrunning “House Hunters,” has also chosen to feature Weaver in their monthly online newsletter about the series.

Weaver, who works full time as a medical sales representative, began her part-time real estate career nearly six years ago.

“I started doing it for friends and family,” Weaver said. “It naturally kind of grew from there.”

Though she plans to advertise differently after the episode airs, highlighting her time on “House Hunters,” Weaver said she loves being able to focus on her clients and doesn’t plan to take on more than she can.

“If I get to the point where I have more business coming in than I can personally handle, I’m definitely going to refer out to agents that I know and trust that can handle the business.”

Weaver believes the episode will be a good showcase for the area.

“They did a lot of local, Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound footage,” Weaver said. “I think it’s going to be really pretty.”

Tiffany Weaver is a realtor for eXp Realty, a cloud-based brokerage founded in Washington state.

The 30-minute episode of “House Hunters” airs at 10 p.m. Friday, March 21, on HGTV.
