Honoring seniors Makensee Taliaferro and Natalya Marcial Monday night, the Napavine girls basketball team came out victorious at home, 57-42, over Morton-White Pass.

The Tigers (8-8, 5-4 C2BL) got double figure scoring contributions from four players in Danielle Tupuola (11 points), Avery Schutz (13 points), Hayden Kaut (17 points), and Grace Gall (11 points) in the win.

Head coach Shane Schutz was most pleased with his team’s rebounding prowess, where the Tigers owned a 55-20 advantage, and the way his players sent off two special players in their last home game: Taliaferro and Marcial.

“They have put a lot of work in and have provided our program with great leadership,” Tigers coach Shane Schutz said. “They have been through a lot in the rebuilding of this program.”

The Timberwolves were led by Natalia Armstrong’s 13 points in a losing effort.

The Tigers will look to keep it up against Toledo on Wednesday, while MWP takes on Wahkiakum on Wednesday.
