Tigers Can’t Find Rhythm in Loss to Shelton

Centralia kept it close for most of the game but couldn’t overcome their early deficit in a 69-53 loss to Shelton on the road Tuesday.

“We never really got into a rhythm all night,” Centralia coach Kyle Donahue said. “Not finding guys on the court, not seeing the court. It was just a culmination of little things built up.”

Landon Kaut scored a game-high 21 points for the Tigers, while Cohen Ballard added 12 and Cole Wasson finished with 10.

Centralia was within seven points at the half, within nine in the third quarter but Shelton’s Charles Thompson went off for a game-high 26 points to keep the Tigers at bay.

“We kind of battled and gave ourselves a chance at the end of the game,” Donahue said. “We did a good job on boards in the first half, but in the second half they started getting offensive rebounds and buried us.”

Centralia (3-2) hosts Black Hills on Thursday.
