Centralia’s Sam Johnston earned co-match medalist honors but the Tigers weren’t able to overcome Shelton in a 60-51 road loss at Alderbrook Golf Course on Monday.

Johnson scored a match-high 23 points to lead Centralia, while Tess McMurry scored 13 points, Emily Wilkerson had nine, Ellen Buzzard finished with five and Kezra Smith contributed one point.

Shelton was led by Kaia Johnson’s 23 points, while Talia Budge had 19, Alena Hall 14 and Gabby Stevens four.

“It was the nicest day we’ve had this spring to play,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth said. “We played well and had the highest score we’ve had all season.”

Centralia next takes on Rochester in 2A Evergreen Conference action at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, at Riverside Golf Course.
